Playing Field

Felsham and Gedding Playing Field was gifted to the two villages in 1976 by Captain George Walmsley and Lucy Dickson Walmsley and is administered by the Walmsley Jubilee Field Charity (No 272431).

The aim of the Charity is to provide a recreation ground for the benefit of the inhabitants of the parishes of Felsham and Gedding.

The management of the Playing Field is carried out by the Charity Trustees - all local residents - who work hard to raise funds for maintenance and improvements to the playing field and encourage use of the playing field through organising events such as the Family Funday and Bonfire Night.

They also organise volunteer work parties to carry out ad-hoc maintenance to the boundary hedges and car park as well as new planting initiatives to widen the bio-diversity and environmental value of the playing field.

The Charity is fully independant of the Parish Council, but does appreciate the funding provided by the Parish Council to pay for grass cutting in the summer.
